On Saturday 6th August 2011 the King of Greystones Charity Triathlon Challenge will celebrate its 10th event! If you have always fancied taking part in this challenge why not sign up and be part of the celebrations. As a way of saying thank you to people who have taken part in the past, this year, there will be numerous spot prizes for competitors, including a prize for male and female winners.
This sprint distance triathlon, which consists of a 750k swim, a 20k cycle and a 5k run around the scenic town and coast of Greystones, is the perfect summer triathlon for both new comers and experienced triathletes.
The King of Greystones organising committee is a voluntary group which consists of people from the local area have worked hard over the past 9 years to ensure a fun, quality event, but ultimately its aim is to support local and regional charities. The nominated charities for this year will be the Sam McMahon Trust and the Bray Lakers.
The committee has worked hard to ensure that the running costs of the event are met by securing sponsorship from local businesses therefore 100% of the proceeds raised on the day will directly benefit the nominated charities. We appreciate that it is getting harder to fundraise for sporting events so we do appreciate any support that you can give.
You can take on the challenge as an individual or as part of a team of 2 or 3. So if you fancy supporting two worthwhile charities whilst getting fit for summer please click to sign up.
The Challenge is to complete a 750m swim, a 20k cycle, and a 5k run. The next event will take place on Saturday 6th August 2011 (race start 10:00am) at the South Beach car park in Greystones.
